Where Are We?

Nestled just 12 km east of Málaga and only 30 km from Málaga International Airport, Padre Aviles offers the perfect balance of peaceful seclusion and easy accessibility.

The nearby coastal neighbourhoods of El Palo and El Candado were once traditional fishing villages, and while they have grown into charming seaside towns, they still retain an authentic Spanish character.

Voted one of the best places to live by Forbes Magazine in 2025, Málaga city centre surprises many visitors with its vibrant culture, relaxed elegance, amazing restaurants and friendly locals.

The historic old town, birthplace of Pablo Picasso, is a delight to explore, with its cobbled streets, lively cafés, traditional tapas bars, boutique shops, and iconic landmarks such as the cathedral, the Alcazaba, the bullring, the amphitheatre and it's many museums.

  • 7 kms to the beach and seafront restaurants

  • 12 kms to Málaga city centre

And thanks to excellent motorway connections, some of Andalucía’s most beautiful cities are perfect for day trips:

  • Granada – 1 hour

  • Seville – 2 hours

  • Córdoba – 2 hours

  • Ronda – 1.5 hours

Padre Aviles is ideally positioned to enjoy both the tranquillity of the countryside and the richness of southern Spain’s culture, cuisine, and coastline.

About us

Having been in the hospitality industry our entire working lives we decided to move to Malaga with our young children over 22 years ago after seeing and falling in love with Padre Aviles. Having spent much of her childhood in Malaga, Claire speaks English, French and Spanish so any questions can be answered in your own language.
